A Thousand Years After I Transmigrated, Every Step Filled Me with Dread

A thousand years in the future.

Human memory-transfer technology finally made a breakthrough, allowing memories in the human brain to be transferred. This led to the invention of the so-called soul transfer device, which let people transplant the memories from their aging brains into new bodies.

At the same time, human genetic technology achieved a complete breakthrough. Using this technology, people could grow a genetic duplicate of themselves. Naturally, through the control of special substances, these duplicates had no consciousness or soul of their own and remained dormant. Only after a soul transfer could a genetic duplicate awaken, inheriting the thoughts and memories of its original.

Thanks to the breakthrough in genetic technology and the invention of the soul transfer device,

humanity finally achieved the transfer of thought, or rather, of memory.

If you're getting old, prepare a genetic duplicate for yourself.

When you feel that your current body can no longer function, go to the hospital and begin the soul transplant. A young, identical version of you will appear before the world once more.
