Great Ming: Zhu Yuanzhang Is at Death's Door, and I Take Charge by Force

In the third month of the twenty-first year of the Hongwu reign, Lan Yu led an army of 150,000 on a northern campaign against the remnants of the Mongols.

The imperial grandson, Zhu Yuntong, stole the token bearing the words "As If I Were Present" from Zhu Yuanzhang and fled the palace, following the army to Lake Buir.

Lan Yu was at a loss over what to do with Zhu Yuntong, so he could only keep him under his protection.

Back in the palace, Zhu Yuanzhang suspected that conspiracies were rampant among the imperial consorts. Someone had murdered his eldest grandson and was now plotting against Crown Prince Zhu Biao as well.

An investigation by Jiang Huan, Commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, uncovered a shocking secret.

Zhu Yuanzhang feigned a critical illness and stayed out of sight.

Turmoil swept through the court and the realm. The Princes of Qin, Jin, and Yan each acted on their own and fought among themselves.

Zhu Yunwen seized the throne and persecuted his own kin. Zhu Yuntong took control of the regency by force and restored order!

He saved the Great Ming from the brink of disaster.
