The Sword That Sweeps Away Demons

When chaos first formed and the primordial world was finally settled, life began to flourish. The Sage Nuwa molded humans from clay. The Three Sovereigns ruled the world, the Five Emperors established the proper order, and the heavens were round while the earth was square. The laws were set. Guang Chengzi, first among the Twelve Golden Immortals of the Heavenly Realm, practiced the way of the sword on Mount Kongtong for eight hundred years before attaining immortality and ascending to heaven. He became the founding patriarch of the Mount Kongtong Sword Sect. Yet after the creation of heaven and earth, the three realms of Heaven, Earth, and Man enjoyed peace for only 129,800 years. When the founder of Mount Kongtong, Guang Chengzi, passed away, the Nine Provinces suddenly split apart, the pillars of the earth were overturned, and subterranean fires raged for a thousand years. Demons and monsters rose up amid the chaos, occupying the Western Regions and founding the Great Insatiable Sect to oppose the righteous path and disrupt the order of the three realms, especially the human realm. For a time, all life suffered, and the people were plunged into misery.
