Longan's Diary: A Rookie's Workplace Story

This is a story about starting out in the workplace. Students still in school can get an early glimpse of what working life is like from this little book, while seasoned professionals can look back on their own rookie days.

As a student fresh out of college, I imagined countless terrifying workplace scenarios before entering the workforce. I encouraged myself again and again and tried hard to prepare myself mentally. But after stepping into the workplace, I realized that none of my imaginings had been realistic. In fact, they were downright naive. The workplace is a battlefield, something no student could ever truly imagine.

My name is Guiyuan, though of course that's a pseudonym. After graduating from college, I joined a bank and became one of its countless ordinary tellers. Before entering the workforce, I felt afraid, but also looked forward to the future with hope and anticipation. I was even a little curious: What is the workplace really like? Now I've been working for several months and have finally made it through the banking industry's busy season, so I have time to record my thoughts and experiences from the past few months...
