Great Ming: Your Odd Changes and Even Changes Stay the Same, Right?

In the first year of the Zhengde era, Emperor Hongzhi has just died, and the whole realm is in mourning!

Yet the newly enthroned Zhengde Emperor holds a lavish banquet right there in the palace.

At the time, such behavior is utterly incomprehensible, the very definition of filial impiety!

Yet historians of later generations give this banquet the highest praise.

This "meeting" becomes a model of harmony between ruler and ministers throughout the feudal dynasties.

Its two leading figures also usher in an era of great change.

In the northern campaign against the Tatars, all lands more than 9,000 li north of the capital become Ming territory.

In the eastern campaign against Japan, the 30,000-li East China Sea becomes a playground for the Ming army and people.

In the south, the hundred or so small states of the Nanyang region all acknowledge the Ming as their sovereign.

In the west, peace is made with the various tribes, and the Silk Road is reopened, spreading the might of the Ming.

No one knows how they accomplish all this in just over a decade.

Only they themselves know: it's because they're transmigrators.

With a vision and outlook far beyond their time, it's as if they're standing on the shoulders of giants. Of course they can overcome every obstacle!
