Showbiz: One Opera Song Sings of Countless Lovesick Souls

Chen Zhou unexpectedly transmigrates to a parallel world where traditional Chinese culture has fallen into decline, in an era when fast-paced songs dominate.

At a show dedicated to traditional Chinese music, his father performs "The Drunken Concubine" to promote Peking opera, only to be savaged by the judges, who even threaten to kick him off the show.

Then a major mishap strikes during a live broadcast. Just as the director hesitates over whether to remove him from the program, Chen Zhou steps onto the stage.

"You say you don't understand opera? Then I'll sing a new version of 'The Drunken Concubine'!"

His dazzling operatic vocals in "The New Drunken Concubine" leave the whole audience spellbound, ushering in a new era of operatic singing.

In "Red Performer," even one of lowly status dares not forget his country. They all say performers have no feelings, but who knew they too could carry love for their homeland?

In "Peering Through the Window," a woman loves with all her heart. What is it that leaves one unable to let go? Though the song recounts life's four great joys, it cannot ease the suffering of my heart and body. How can I bear this love?

"The Prison Warden's Office" sings of love, hate, parting, and reunion among the Nine Gates, telling one story after another.

"Ten Years in the Mortal World" sings of endless solitude and the vicissitudes of life, all for the sake of a promise made ten years ago.
