I'm a Lay Disciple of Buddhism, but the Abbot Wants Me in Showbiz

Shi Xiaodong, a superstar in his previous life, had his soul transported to a parallel world.

He became a young novice monk at Qingliang Temple on Mount Wutai.

Years later, an old monk and a young one sat together in the Hall of Great Strength.

Shi Xiaodong: "Master Abbot, please shave my head and let me truly take refuge in Buddhism."

Master Abbot: "Amitabha! Your Buddha nature has yet to take root, and your worldly ties remain unresolved."

"Then what should I do?"

"The entertainment industry is a world of fame and fortune. Go there and hone yourself for a few years. If you return without abandoning your original resolve, then your Buddhist destiny will have arrived!"

"I'm not going. Ten years ago, you tricked me into writing all those songs and selling them. Has the temple run out of money again?"

"Ahem! I recently bought a plot of land, and now I owe a little money."

"How much?"

"Not much, only 520 million!"

"You bald old fraud, how dare you undermine my faith in Buddha?"
