Simulating a Sliver of Hope: Why Isn't the Protagonist Me?

Abducted to another world by a simulator from the start, Lu Changsheng became emperor, but he was still deeply unhappy. Being emperor was a pretty miserable job.

At court, the Empress Dowager ruled from behind the curtain, civil officials seized power and did as they pleased, and military officials lorded over their armies and caroused day after day.

In the imperial harem, the empress was a spy, the noble consort was an infiltrator, and none of the other consorts were any good either.

Beyond the palace, the common people lived in abject misery. Adults were so hungry they'd eat anything, children had no one to rely on, and landlords were like local emperors.

Beyond the empire, eight kingdoms watched like wolves, ready to tear the country apart at any moment.

Lu Changsheng felt immense pressure. "You've dumped this whole damn mess on me, and now you, Simulator, have vanished without a trace."

It wasn't until a eunuch brought him porridge late one night that the Simulator finally activated, just before he took a sip.

But as soon as he started using it...

"What the hell? Why isn't the protagonist in the simulation me?!"
