Demons Run Wild Among the Immortals

In the thirtieth year of Jian'an, the realm was in chaos. The Buddha could not save all living beings, and Lady Meng could not comfort the dead. In the thirty-first year of Jian'an, the kingdom was destroyed by Jing. The reason was that Jian'an had suffered three consecutive years of severe drought. Food was scarce, and once-mighty soldiers had grown as thin as ants. The warhorses had long since become food for their masters. Jian'an's million-man army met its death bravely, and the King of Jian'an was captured and reduced to a prisoner. Jian'an was under the protection of Junle, the sea immortal of Nanyue. The immortals argued endlessly in the Imperial Immortal Hall, and Junle ultimately died under heavenly tribulation, failing to transcend and becoming a demon. The Great General of Jian'an died with resentment over the kingdom's fall, failing to transcend and becoming a ghost.

The Ghost Realm has three great ghosts, and the Demon Realm has two great demons.
