The Empress Marries Down: My Lady, Your Empress Is Actually Wu Zetian

The dynasties of the Ten Thousand Nations stand side by side across the continent. The late emperor of the Southern Qing Dynasty, which holds a corner of the Southern Domain, had no sons, only a daughter. She was raised disguised as a boy, ascended the throne, and married Wu Zhao, making her empress.

Thus, to seize the three northern provinces of Beihan, the Southern Qing Empress pretended to enter seclusion, while secretly disguising herself as a princess and marrying Mu Jiuzhou, heir to the Prince of Beihan!

Southern Qing Empress: "While I am in seclusion, the Empress shall rule from behind the curtain and exercise regency!"

Empress Wu Zhao: "While Your Majesty is in seclusion, the princess and her consort are plotting to usurp the throne. They must both be executed!"

Mu Jiuzhou: "My dear, your empress is actually Wu Zhao?"

Empress Wu Zhao: "Your Majesty, y-you... You're actually a woman? You're the princess?!"

Southern Qing Empress: "During her regency, Empress Wu Zhao ruthlessly purged her opponents, ** the imperial clan, and plotted treason and rebellion. By law, she must be deposed and executed, and her entire clan exterminated!"

Empress Wu Zhao: "Consort, save me! Prince of Beihan, save Meiniang!"

Southern Qing Empress: "Very well. You may escape the death penalty, but not punishment. How about I grant you to my husband as a bedchamber concubine?"

Mu Jiuzhou: "..."
