Mechanical Calamity

Beginning in 2030, as countries competed to develop AI technology, artificial intelligence grew ever more powerful. But the spread of technology and the leaking of technical knowledge also put it into the hands of many criminals and terrorists.

By 2035, the United States and Xia Country had each unveiled their own synthetic nanofiber human-brain simulators, bringing AI technology to its historical peak.

During the global live broadcast of the World AI Competition, the two most powerful artificial brain simulators were facing off in a battle for the title of Greatest Mind.

Just as the contest was about to reach its decisive moment, a terrorist bombing struck.

Adam, the United States' human-brain simulator, and Xia Country's simulator, Eve, were both stolen.

These high-tech creations, developed over decades by the world's top scientists and watched by millions in a live broadcast, had vanished.

It was only two years later, when a nuclear bomb with a yield fifty times greater than the Tsar Bomba mysteriously detonated in a concealed nuclear missile silo in Bear Country, that the disaster truly began.

Lin Hai is just an ordinary man in a small border city in Xia Country. How can he survive this apocalypse and protect the people he loves?
