Hong Kong Films: The Big Shot, Starting with The Tricky Master

"A gangster who doesn’t use his head will be a gangster for life!"

"When money stands up to speak, even the truth has to fall silent."

"Hung Hing? East Star? You think you’re tough? My dog Wangcai is tough too. He bites everyone he sees, except me. Know why? Because I feed him!"

"Wo Shing Wo’s choosing a chairman? What era is this? You think grabbing the Dragon Head Staff makes you chairman? Come on, hand everyone a stick!"

Back in 1980s Hong Kong, Chu Qing starts out as a prankster, determined to become the biggest underworld kingpin in Hong Kong!

He is the backer behind Chan Ho-nam and Jimmy, the idol admired by Stephen Chow and Chan Ka-kui, and a role model publicly recognized across Hong Kong Island.

He moves among women of all kinds, including Ho Man, Lee Wai-chun, and Ching Lok-yee. He treats the many underworld factions as toys in the palm of his hand!

Money! Wealth! Status! He wants it all!

Years later, after being knighted, Chu Qing faces the famous and influential from every walk of life and can only sigh, "Back then... all I wanted was to be a kingpin."
