Li Er, I Haven't Even Forced You to Abdicate Yet. Why Did You Give Up the Throne?

Li Qian transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty, hoping to live a leisurely life.

He plans to take two beautiful wives, enjoy moonlit nights among the flowers, and drink and sing to his heart’s content.

But fate has other plans. The two beautiful candidates he painstakingly raised, Wu Meiniang and Xu Hui,

catch Li Er’s eye!

The old man uses the two women to threaten Li Qian, forcing him to enter officialdom.

Faced with Li Er’s threats, Li Qian swallows his pride and is forced to join the imperial court.

From his very first day at court, Li Qian is plotting to force the emperor to abdicate.

He develops rice, builds waterworks, and takes charge of the Ministry of Works.

He reforms the imperial examinations, fills the world with his students, and takes charge of the Ministry of Personnel.

He rises to Grand General of Heavenly Strategy, commands the military power of the Tang Dynasty, and holds sway over the court.

The time, the place, and the people are all in his favor.

Just as Li Qian is about to force the emperor to abdicate, Li Er actually... steps down!!!

And his successor is none other than Li Qian!

What?! How can he put up with this?

He’s swallowed his pride for years, and before he can force the emperor to abdicate, the man steps down on his own!
