Great Tang: I Haven't Even Forced You to Abdicate, So Why Have You Stepped Down?

Li Qian transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty, hoping to live a leisurely life.

He plans to take two beautiful wives, enjoy romantic nights beneath the flowers, and drink and sing to his heart's content.

But fate has other plans. The beautiful wife candidates he painstakingly raised, Wu Meiniang and Xu Hui, have caught Li Er's eye!

The old geezer uses the two women to threaten Li Qian, forcing him to take up an official post.

Faced with Li Er's threats, Li Qian swallows his pride and is forced to enter the court.

From his very first day there, Li Qian has been plotting to force the emperor to abdicate.

He develops rice varieties, builds irrigation works, and takes charge of the Ministry of Works.

He reforms the imperial examinations, cultivates students across the empire, and takes charge of the Ministry of Personnel.

He rises to the post of Grand General of the Heavenly Strategies, commands the military might of the Tang Dynasty, and wields power throughout the court.

The right time, place, and people are all in place.

Just as Li Qian prepares to force the emperor to abdicate, Li Er actually... steps down!

And his successor is none other than Li Qian!

What?! How can he stand for this?

He's swallowed his pride for years, and he hasn't even forced the emperor to abdicate yet. How can Li Er step down now?
