Divine Kingdom Game: Starting by Inheriting the Reaper's Mantle

The God Kingdom, a "metaverse" game created through centuries of human effort, went live.

Jiang Chen picked a fight with the System over the name he liked, "Death God," and never expected to inherit a divine title for no apparent reason.

Ding! Congratulations, player! You have defeated the Death God and successfully inherited the Death God divine title, one of the game's main godhoods!

This turn of events left Jiang Chen stunned. He couldn't react for a moment.

"What did you say?"

Player Death God has obtained a divine title and received the Death God's Temple!

Player Death God has obtained the Death God talent: Lord of the Undead!

Unexpectedly, after the game had been running for some time, Jiang Chen discovered that it was nothing like the slightly more advanced online game he had imagined!

If it was meant to resolve the nation's wars, why was it presented as a game?

What kind of world was this, really?
