Tales of the Women of Eastern Qi

Synopsis:

The story of a coolheaded, intelligent female general and a warm, scheming prince from an enemy kingdom.

Le Yue, with Yue pronounced in the fourth tone, Zheng Wan's confession: My name is Le Zheng Wan. Le Zheng is my double surname, and Wan is my given name. I was born into the Le Zheng family, the House of Marquis Taian. As a child, I often hid under the covers and cried, because Mother always favored my third younger sister, even though I was her own daughter! At the same time, I envied my sister Le Zheng Qi so much. When she wanted to laugh, she laughed to her heart's content; when she wanted to cry, she could sob without restraint. And even when she fell for someone, she felt no need to hide it. I couldn't do that. If there was even the slightest impropriety in my behavior, if I disgraced the status of the eldest daughter of the House of Marquis Le Zheng, all that awaited me was Mother's ruler.

My mother was the first person I couldn't bear to see favor someone else. The second was Shen Luo. It wasn't just her favoritism: even seeing him look at someone else with admiration made me feel miserable, made me suffer... But sooner or later, I have to leave...
