Spirit Master

This is a world brimming with spiritual energy, yet humans cannot absorb it directly to cultivate. They can only form contracts with spirit beasts and cultivate by absorbing the spiritual energy those beasts convert. Contracted spirit beasts are called spirit pets, and the people who contract with them are known as spirit masters.

Ling Chen is a spirit master, too, but someone somehow crippled him during a cultivation session. When he woke up, he had lost his memory and had been dumped on an old man who traveled from place to place. The old man was a medicine master. After treating Ling Chen, he sent him to an academy, and Ling Chen began his cultivation journey anew.
