Late-Night Storytime

If you think about it carefully, there are very few things in life that we can decide for ourselves. We cannot choose our background, and we cannot choose our intelligence. Perhaps we can decide five percent of things, but ninety-five percent are beyond our control. We step onto a stage we did not choose and perform a script we did not choose. Whose script here was written by you yourself? In truth, it wasn't. Often, we envy other people's scripts. Sometimes I envy them, too. But no one's script is worth envying. All you can do is perform your own script well.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to real people or events is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
