About This Novel
Based on the Nirvana in Fire in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, this work is changed to the twelve-year preparation stage of Mei Changsu's revenge. It is also the most difficult stage to write and compile in Nirvana in Fire. This work tells the story of the intrigue between the Jiangzuo gentry forces and the northern vassal forces in the Liang Empire caused by successive years of drought after the Chi Yan case. In the end, Xiao Xuan moved his capital from Bianliang to Jinling. Xiao Jingyan, the governor of Jinzhou, was elected as his new interest representative by the major military forces. He later launched a series of power struggles, ousted his political opponents and ascended the throne as Emperor Wu Jing.
