In the autumn of the ninth year of Tang Li, Tang Yun unified the scattered seven kingdoms and ended the century-long struggle for hegemony among the eight kingdoms. From then on, Tang Yun established himself as king, named his country Tang, and called him Gaozu. Since the unification, Tang Yun vigorously rectified the legal system and served the country and the people. He was deeply loved by the people and the Tang Dynasty was once prosperous and stable. But on the seemingly calm sea level, there are undercurrents surging underwater. After the Eight Kingdoms fought for hegemony, and with the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, a new order slowly emerged in the rivers and lakes. The originally peaceful sea was once again disturbed by storms.
