About This Novel
1864 - the fourth year after the Qing government signed the unequal treaty "Beijing Treaty" with Britain and France (Gengshen Rebellion), and the third year after the Yehenala family launched a palace coup (Xinyou Coup). In this year, the local regiment training army headed by Zeng Guofan broke through Tianjing, the base camp of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and many local Han officials were re-employed. In this year, because of his contribution to quelling the rebellion, Zhou Youhai, the second son of the Zhou family in Zhouping Town, was recognized and reused by the imperial court. In this year, a French Catholic priest came here. After some inspection, he planned to build a new church here as a new missionary site. The story begins here... Ps: This is not a time-travel novel.
