About This Novel
In an era when the Star Dynasty was turning from prosperity to decline, the emergence of the New World became a paradise for adventure and competition among various races. The rolling mountains protect the fragile alliance of human lords; the dwarves guard the gate to the land of wealth; the elves continue to expand their woodlands, trying to recreate the glory of the Silver Moon Age. On the other side of the mountain, dragons rule the sky, orcs occupy the ground, and other evils are at work underground. In these days, Siegel was nothing more than an orphan, found in a squid fishing cage with a twenty-sided die. He dreams of adventure and being a hero, but doesn't know how to make it happen. He has been a sailor, a squire, a knight, and a lord, but only the power of magic fascinates him. But how to maintain his true nature in magic has become his biggest challenge. The new book is on the shelves, "White Flag Super Limit Store", I am Soth, and I will continue to tell... (This is Mage Story 2. Ps, "dice" = tou twice)

Writing a novel in the style of a documentary loses the visual advantages of a documentary, but gains the shortcomings of being lengthy and soft. In the end, it will appear weak in terms of narrative and overall tension.
really like this book
This is the best online novel I have ever read, because you can really feel the author thinking and thinking throughout the book, and the logic in it is also very good. At the same time, the tone and technique of this book seem very novel. It is definitely not as rigid as fantasy novels. I really like this book. 😍
Delicate writing and unpredictable plot
At certain times, the detailed description and writing style will make people sigh, "I can't write it in this life." The introductory sentence "Sailing into the storm, I want to go home" started my expectations for the whole book. Just after reading the end, I had tangled thoughts about whether it was worth it or not. When describing details and scenery, you can clearly feel that there is a real world in the author's mind. In terms of details, different characters will have different troubles, and these small troubles will be shown in just two paragraphs. They are reasonable and not abrupt. It shows details that are ignored in other novels and we have not thought about them in detail. The whole different world appeared full of vitality in front of me because of these few small details. As for the description of scenery, a certain moment reminded me of Haruki Murakami. It is difficult to find descriptions of scenery that are so close to prose in fantasy novels, giving the characters a very delicate but not necessarily useful psychological portrayal. Then there is the part that troubles me. In this novel, few readers can be masters of prophecy. What you think does not match what happens next. You think that a few friends will last forever in the future and support each other and move forward together, but the author will have no role for him later. You think that two people with the same roots will trust each other and fight against powerful enemies together, and then they arrange a plot for you that doesn't know the context and whether it can be called a boss battle. You think that the male protagonist wants to do something and experiences unexpected setbacks. After a period of rest, he will regroup and work hard to move forward, and then immediately complete the task without relying on the male protagonist. My only correct guess is that the love between the male and female protagonists has become less important after marriage. Even though it takes up a lot of space, it is mostly mentioned as "accompanying". The proportion of psychological descriptions before marriage has been greatly reduced, and this is the biggest highlight of the author's arrangement of this relationship. I always feel that the outline of this book has been changed many times, and the author used a lot of foreshadowing things that were completely useless later. This kind of twist in some plots makes it difficult to keep expectations, after all, expectations are useless. The thing that still makes me feel like Muraki is that Muraki has also used this kind of twist, as if I turned a new page and the sentence "attended Naoko's funeral" made me re-read the previous chapters several times. The difference is that Murasu directly sets off the climax, and then gradually reduces the fermentation of things to allow readers to calm down their inner sorrow and turmoil. The author is more like building a cable car at the last corner before the top of the mountain and telling you: The top of the mountain is not allowed to enter, so go down the mountain. So, with the excitement of climbing to the top and the surprise of stopping suddenly, you sit on the stable cable car and look at the scenery you saw when you came back to the starting point from a very low altitude... Overall, this book is worth reading, but not worth staying up until five in the morning to read it.
impossible
This is impossible. Why is "dice" not pronounced shai but tou?
Looks like a dnd-like background story
It should be good to look forward to it
Haven't watched it yet
Give me a good review first
Great book!
Although this book is very expensive, I still like it very much. It is a book that truly describes the magical world of Middle-earth in the West. There are really too few Chinese people who can write this kind of book. I haven't read it for a long time and it is finally finished. Leave a comment to support Soth.

This is the story of a mage, this is an inspiring story! In an era when the Star Dynasty was turning from prosperity to decline, the emergence of the New World became a paradise for adventure and competition among various races. Stretching mountains protect the fragile alliance of human lords; Dwarves guard the gates to the land of wealth; The elves continue to expand their woodland, trying to regain the glory of the Silver Moon Age.

I read the books I bought during the last 515 event, but I read them slowly. It can be regarded as a relatively orthodox fantasy work, but the author's writing style is relatively dry. So I can only order food and grass - But the IQs of the main and supporting characters are completely online, which is very surprising. The protagonist is a man who pursues magic. Moreover, his pursuit is to open up his own world step by step in ignorance and embark on the road of magic. This setting intrigues me. Because this is the protagonist finding his own way in the exploration of the world.

My favorite book by Soth is "The Mage's Story", and this attitude can be seen in my previous book reviews. This author has done a very deep research on DND and fantasy systems, but his book was really published in the wrong place. If it were published in English abroad, it might be a big hit and become famous! Aboriginal protagonist, imperfect character, growth story, not obviously cool. In the era of online articles, this shortcoming is really too serious. As my taste is more biased towards old people, I gave it up after reading it. Although I didn't finish reading this book at that time, I still heard about the tragedy that it ended hastily because of poor grades. What a pity! The author was born at the wrong time! Off-topic: The author's new book seems to be good, but I'd better wait until it's finished and finish it in one go!
