About This Novel
With the annihilation of Shi Dakai's troops in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a small detachment of the Taiping Army, led by leader surnamed Zhu, moved to Shibabao, Jiuwan, Chenhe, a small town in eastern Sichuan, to continue fighting. The Qing army surrounded the Taiping Army in a dense forest. In order to resist the enemy's attack, the Taiping Army cut down the green bar trees on the Jiuwan Shibabao to build fortifications. With the advent of the rainy season, many white flowers bloom on the green trees, commonly known as "white ears" and "tremella". At this time, the Taiping Army had run out of ammunition and food. The hungry sergeant picked off the white-eared seeds and ate them, so he became energetic and suddenly rushed out of Jiuwan Eighteen Bao and defeated the Qing army. The Taiping Army learned from this the technique of planting white fungus with green bar trees. However, due to the outnumbered enemy, the Taiping Army was almost wiped out. The leader surnamed Zhu was seriously injured. On his deathbed, he told the local subordinates my grandfather, Wang Lixian, where the gold and silver treasures looted by the Taiping Army were hidden, and entrusted his seven-year-old son Zhu Zhaoqiong to my grandfather Wang Lixian, hoping that my grandfather Wang Lixian would raise Zhu Zhaoqiong to restore the cause of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. Grandfather Wang Lixian escaped and founded the "Taiping Tremella Village". The story uses the third person "I" to tell the story of three generations of the Wang family who passed the golden waterway of the Yangtze River and had their grudges with the Chen family. After nearly a hundred years of struggle, they made Tremella famous internationally and became extremely wealthy.
