About This Novel

"Xia Feng Sword Shadow" is a traditional martial arts novel set in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It describes the great changes that took place in China in the 24 years from the accession of Emperor Taichang of the Ming Dynasty to the fall of the Ming Dynasty (1620-1644), as well as a series of ensuing grievances and resentments in the world. The wealthy siblings Jin Yifeng and Jin Yingying came from a scholarly family, but their father Jin Haishan was sent to Tianshan to learn martial arts when they were young. When the brother and sister returned from their studies, they accidentally became Zhu Youxiao's personal bodyguards, and from then on they were caught up in the internal fighting in the palace and the bloody battle in Liaodong. Their brothers and sisters and other knights not only got close to Ming Dynasty emperors like Zhu Youxiao and Zhu Youjian, but also got close to famous military generals like Sun Chengzong, Yuan Chonghuan, Zu Dashou, and Wu Sangui; even more amazingly, they also got close to Gao Yingxiang, Li Zicheng, Zhang Xianzhong, Huang Taiji, Dorgon, and Emperor Shunzhi. Their experiences are colorful and legendary. They had many opportunities to gain glory and wealth, but they did not. Instead, for the sake of national justice, they refused to be bribed and embarked on the road of resisting foreign humiliation and defending their homeland...
