Nine Women Hiding Husband
About This Novel
Yunluo Mountain, recorded in the "Anqiu County Chronicle" of the Qing Dynasty, stretches across the southern part of Yingling, with both beautiful mountains and beautiful waters and a cultural context of loyalty and filial piety. At the end of the Sui Dynasty and the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, the world was in chaos. The young hero Luo Cheng led his army to garrison in this mountain. He relied on the steep terrain to resist the rebels. Later, due to the great disparity between the enemy and ourselves, Luo Cheng died in a bloody battle in Yunluoyuan, and the rebels threatened to dig his grave to vent their anger. The nine female generals under his command were either good at riding and shooting, some were strategists, or some were skilled in medicine. In order to protect the reputation of the general, they took advantage of the cover of clouds and mist in the mountains at night to bury them secretly under the ancient cypress on the top of the mountain. Then they resolutely died and were buried together. In gratitude for his loyalty, the people named the mausoleum "Nine Women Hidden Man Tomb" and voluntarily guarded and worshiped it, forming a unique folk custom. During the Qianlong period, villagers raised funds to rebuild the mausoleum, add stone pavilions, and re-erect monuments so that the deeds of loyal martyrs could be engraved. For thousands of years, this legend has been integrated into the blood of Yingling. This book salvages the dusty history, reproduces the life and death integrity of Luo Cheng and the nine female generals, and shows the admiration passed down from generation to generation by the people of Yingling. "Loyal souls are hidden in the clouds, and righteous names are passed down by nine girls." This spirit of loyalty that spans time and space is not only the spiritual code of this land, but also an immortal force that inspires future generations to uphold morality and shoulder their missions bravely.
