Maoshan Secret Records: Tianmen Old Deed
by Honghui
About This Novel
The protagonist, Chen Yan, is twenty years old, an ordinary county youth, with a gentle and affectionate personality. He is afraid of trouble, but he is not soft-spoken. He returned to his hometown to attend his grandmother's funeral, but the whole village was plagued by evil spirits for the first seven nights: paper figures were served on the table, the soil was dug up in ancestral graves, and people who had been dead for many years came home and knocked on the door. The whole village was almost wiped out, and only Chen Yan survived. The person who rescued him was an old Taoist from Maoshan who had been missing for many years. The old Taoist told him: This is not an accident, but someone is using the lives of the whole village to renew an "old contract with Tianmen" that should have been broken long ago. Chen Yan came to modern Maoshan initially just to find out the cause of death in the village and his family. But every time he solves a supernatural case, he will see a piece of old events from the Ming and Qing Dynasties or the Republic of China, and find that his bloodline, the founder of Maoshan, the rebellion of the underworld, and the gods in heaven are entangled with each other. In the end, what he has to face is not a single evil spirit, but an immortality scam jointly buried by the three realms.
