About This Novel
During the Great Chao Dynasty, the Imperial Heavenly Supervisor was in charge of the astrology and calender to determine the destiny of the country. The people had a "shuttle door" that used star tracks to carve gears and calendars to determine mechanisms. They could build "star-carrying machines" (ancient machines that relied on the power of stars). The advancement of star-carrying machines could produce "witnesses" (mechanical intelligence, neither soul nor demon, generated by the number of stars and the law of gear meshing).
