About This Novel

Chen Yuxuan, the only son of Chen Yuanwang, deputy privy envoy of the Southern Song Dynasty, was a noble son who was well-read in poetry and books and extremely intelligent, but was confused because of his high position and witnessing the corruption of the imperial court. He went from being passively involved to taking the initiative, and finally transcended the hatred of his family and country, and understood the complete arc of the great hero. His father, Chen Yuanwang, was appointed as the "peace envoy" and went north to negotiate with Yuan Ting. Chen Yuxuan accidentally discovered that his father's deputy envoy secretly communicated with the Yuan army's secret envoy. The so-called "peace negotiation" may be a well-planned treasonous conspiracy. Chen Yuxuan wanted to warn his father, but instead he was falsely accused of "collaborating with the enemy" and was pursued by both the court and his family. Taking with him an ordinary iron sword that his father had given him for self-defense in the early years (the sword has a profound meaning later), he was forced to escape from Lin'an alone and step into a strange world.
