Personally, I think the author can do some major events in the theatrical version, and then do some daily work, such as exchange studies in other countries, and develop new characters. When I was a child, I didn't have to wait for people to come to Konoha. The rest needs the author to create an event setting, or you can mix part of the setting of the Naruto movie version with Xiaoxin Theatrical Edition to solve some things in advance, just like White Fang, or a parallel world where people from the future travel through time and have big events.
