Chongqing Construction Industry is a century-old enterprise with a long history and brilliant achievements. This book traces history through the creation of Hanyang Arsenal in the late Qing Dynasty, its relocation to Chongqing during the Anti-Japanese War, and its development as a key national defense enterprise after the founding of the People's Republic of China; from the two monuments of "Made in Hanyang" cast in the Revolution of 1911 and the Nanchang Uprising; from the prominent position in Chinese history and China's economic construction revealed by the personal inspections of three generations of leaders of New China, it introduces the rise and self-improvement of China's modern national industry. The author of this book has served as deputy director of the Construction Industry Propaganda Department, director of the Factory History Office and director of the archives. "A Century of Construction Industry History" is a condensed and compiled collection of factory history materials compiled by the author in June 2017 for the preparation of the Chongqing Anti-Japanese War Ordnance and Industry Museum after his retirement. The content of this book comes from the 650,000-word first factory history "History of the State-owned 296 Factory (1898-1990)" compiled in 1992, as well as two factory history materials edited by the author: one is a 990,000-word factory history. The second factory history after the factory restructuring is "History of the Development of Construction Industry (1991-2009)", and the second is the 360,000-word "Ten-Year History of Construction Industry (2009-2019) Part 1" after the military-civilian separation. Other supplementary information comes from the factory newspaper "Construction News" of various periods, as well as media propaganda reports on the construction industry and corporate culture series and other documents.
