About This Novel

Emperor Zhou Jichang led eight hundred princes to overthrow the Shang Dynasty. The emperor of Zhou then divided the princes into feudal states. The State of Chen was a vassal state with the surname Gui from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period. It was a descendant of Emperor Shun and one of the twelve vassals of the Spring and Autumn Period. The first monarch was Guiman, the son of Yifu (also known as Yanfu) who held the position of Taozheng (that is, the official in charge of making pottery) of King Wen of Zhou Dynasty. Enfeoffments are divided into dukes, marquises, earls, barons, viscounts and vassals. The Chen State was glorious for a while, then declined infinitely, and was even destroyed by the Chu State...
