About This Novel

After traveling through time into a satellite, after hundreds of years of observation, the world was destroyed, and Ji Lu started his second life. Starting from the ignorant Middle Ages, The fire is getting stronger and stronger, and more and more people are spreading the fire. Heliocentric theory, classical mechanics, biological evolution... Enlightenment, reason, logic; Freedom, change, truth. The sages who promoted the times would always kiss the same stone, look up at the same starry sky at a certain moment, and create a symbol from their hearts - "?"

A bread of truth worthy of admiration, but worthy of being cake.

A little popular science with history, a novel full of human pursuit of truth, the group portraits are well portrayed, the fictionalization and adaptation are well done, but it is a pity that some holes are not filled in (why was it cut? 😭). To make a digression: This reminds me of a few days ago, when I was excitedly talking about "Dream of Red Mansions" with my friend on the voice channel, and he deeply hurt me with the most ordinary words: "Stop doing such fantasy-like things, you are just an ordinary person...". To be honest, I had countless ways to refute his statement, but I chose to remain silent. It's not that I don't want conflicts in friendship, but I realized that he almost never reads books, and rarely watches philosophy, history, politics, or even movies. He didn't understand why I had such a big reaction to some "events", "truths" and "stories". Human cognition has limitations. After reading this novel, I am even more convinced of this. People should be humble and equal, but there are differences between people. I can't explain all this to him, because he is not me. Even if he recognized science and the sacrifices of countless people, this was not his life. He was not Adelaide, nor would he be a bishop. He was just the epitome of hard-working life at that time. I hope the author can also find his own truth in his own life, and of course the career he loves.
