The Everlasting Light of Heaven's Heart

Can Meng Po’s soup really make you forget everything? Before the Three Lives Stone, will you and I still have the courage to face our past and present lives? A new emperor takes the throne, and loyal officials and valiant generals are murdered one after another. Is this really a case of discarding the hounds once the rabbits are gone, or is there more to it? Why did the young master of the Bai family, a celebrated medical clan of the Fuling Jin Hong Shui Xin lineage in the Celestial Dynasty, vanish overnight while still an infant? Why have the exceptionally gifted young lady and her biological father, the chief master of the Xushi Hall, been estranged for so many years? Why has the second master of the branch family, now past thirty, still not married? Who has he opened his heart to? Why does a trace of hidden sorrow always linger behind the female steward’s smile? What pain does she keep buried in her heart? Why does the young master, who returned home suddenly after fifteen years missing, have eyes exactly like those of his late third uncle? A struggle for power is about to erupt, and right and wrong, good and evil, all hang on a single thought. To give something up is to gain something in return, so why are some people always unable to let go? Tell me, when two people whose hearts beat as one die at the same time and in the same place, will they meet again on the road to the underworld? And if they do, what then? Will they cross the Bridge of Helplessness hand in hand? After drinking a bowl of Meng Po’s soup together before the Three Lives Stone, will they smile at each other and see who still remembers whom, who still loves whom, and who still cannot let go?
