Tales of the Old Star

Humanity's true industrial foundations have existed for only a few hundred years. Before civilizations that are tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions, or even tens or hundreds of millions of years old, we are still nothing but savages. Ours is merely a civilization that thinks too highly of itself. The narrow scope of our knowledge has made us dull-witted. But when we face extraterrestrial civilizations whose technology far surpasses ours, will we bow and scrape, or rise up and fight? Who will make that choice? Will they tear out the roots of humanity's technological system, or shower our future with their benevolence? Don't rush to look for answers. Let us listen together to the stories that unfolded in the ancient blue homeland, deep within Orion's Arm, before the founding of New Jing. Technology is the cornerstone of civilization, yet the people who truly work to advance it are the pitifully few scientists and engineers among us. This book is dedicated to those striving to make China strong!
