The Spirit-Binding Case Files

In the mortal world there is a girl named Mo Yichen. Her heavenly eye opened at birth, allowing her to see all things in both the yin and yang realms. Compassion is her nature, and she instinctively knows the Daoist arts as she walks among mortals. Born without knowing the cause of her past life, she cultivates through introspection and eventually attains the Dao. She travels freely between the yin and yang realms, helping souls through the cycles of life and death. Demons fear her Lotus Curse, and ghosts tremble before her Nine Hells Scripture. If you ask what she fears in this life, there is only one thing: love. In just seven short years of mortal life, she has tasted all the world's bitterness and hardship. Though small, she is shrewd, and her resentment runs deep. When evil thoughts arise, they ultimately bring harm to others. She should have gone to hell to cultivate a mortal heart, erasing her sins so she could be reborn. But then a kind person showed her compassion, earning her enough good karma in the mortal world to offset her debt. A grown woman and a little girl become partners, one human and one ghost roaming the mortal world. Together, they defeat ghosts and demons and bring peace to a world steeped in resentment.
