she stands before him and begs, “Help me!”
He gives her a wicked smile. “I’ve already repaid the favor I owed you, so... what are you going to offer in exchange?”
Her face darkens, but she looks up into his eyes and smiles seductively. “Would I do?”
His anger turns to laughter. The next moment, he reaches out and pulls her into his arms.
“Woman, you really will stop at nothing to get what you want. You’d even sell yourself?”
He resents her heartlessness and selfishness, and the unscrupulous way she’ll do anything to climb to the top. But he doesn’t know the truth: she’s willing to do it only because it’s him.
