Spring and Autumn Under Heaven

The Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods were the childhood of Chinese history. The events described in All Under Heaven: Spring and Autumn take place between 481 and 473 BC. This period marked a turning point in Chinese history and is generally known to historians as the transition between the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, or the end of the Spring and Autumn period and the beginning of the Warring States period. This book recounts only eight years of events, but represents the entire transitional era, which is generally considered the period when China moved from a slave society to a feudal one.

Through the protagonist's experiences, the book weaves together historical events involving the states of Qi, Chu, Jin, Wu, Yue, Zheng, Song, Wei, Qin, Zhongshan, and Dai, as well as Korea and Japan. Written in a traditional style, it is both elegant and vivid, with sharply drawn characters.

The complete draft of this book was posted on a certain site in 2006 without any promotion, yet it was reposted by many sites, and at least two pirated print editions were published. Recently, I discovered that the book had mysteriously vanished from the site where it first appeared, so I have moved it to Zongheng and am publishing a revised edition.
