Each beast card houses the spirit consciousness of a strange beast and bears a different supernatural gift: the Nine-Tailed Fox excels at beguiling, Yinglong commands the rain, and Zhulong governs day and night. Those who can sense and form contracts with the cards are known as Shanhai Card Masters.
In the struggle for powerful, rare cards, factions clash and kill, while hidden realms teem with danger. The protagonist embarks on a long journey to find cards, gradually filling in a fragmented Shanhai bestiary. He must fight to survive amid powerful enemies and perilous lands, gather the scattered Great Wilderness spirit cards, uncover the truth behind the beasts' transformation into cards, and preserve the Shanhai order as it nears collapse.
