The Poor Family's Beloved Child, the Commoner's Top Scholar

After transmigrating into the youngest son of a poor family in an ancient mountain village, he finds the Xi family living in utter poverty, yet showering all their affection on him.

His parents live frugally, his older brothers look after him, and the whole family pools their resources to support his studies.

He buries himself in books in their humble thatched cottage, and eventually passes the imperial examinations.
