Lin Yuan was found to have a four-element mixed spirit root, and everyone declared that he would "never advance beyond the third level of Qi Refining in his entire life." His clansmen seized his fields and drove him out of the family home, leaving him only a battered alchemy furnace passed down by his ancestors. Everyone was waiting to watch this "fake spirit root" rot in the mud. Then, one night, a spark glowed in a crack in the furnace. Toss in a batch of failed pills, and out came perfect ones. Feed it a single spirit herb, and the whole furnace filled with the scent of medicine. From then on, he kept the furnace hidden and quietly rose to power on the strength of its resources. You look down on me for having a fake spirit root, but with this broken furnace, I'll turn every so-called "genius" you admire into a stepping stone beneath my feet. "Watch your words, everyone. This nameless rogue cultivator before you... is the fastest-rising master of alchemy in all of Tiannan."
