After two years of being exploited by Xingyu, having her opportunities stolen and scandals dogging her every step, Lin Wanqing resolutely terminates her contract. In return, the company imposes a total industry blacklist. The entire internet waits to watch her sink into the mire, never to rise again.
A scene of her acting in the rain unexpectedly goes viral. Top director Zhang Chi is impressed by her performance and invites her to audition for the serious drama Moonlight Over the Ancient City. At the audition, she outshines Su Yao, a rising star heavily backed by capital, winning the role of Su Ningshuang. The official announcement sends shockwaves across the internet.
Capital interests keep sabotaging her behind the scenes, doing everything they can to destroy her future. Lin Wanqing wields her acting like a blade and carves her way forward with her work. She refuses to court publicity or rely on anyone, breaking through prejudice step by step, sweeping the major awards, and ultimately reaching the pinnacle of Chinese entertainment, becoming the standard everyone else looks up to.
