Female lead, one woman and two men; both male leads are devoted only to her
Jiang Yue's life was trapped between two very different men.
Su Yu'an was her younger brother. They met when they were young and depended on each other for more than two years. Back then, Jiang Yue did everything she could to support his studies and stayed by his side through the poorest, most difficult days of his life. She was the only light in his darkest moments. Later, Su Yu'an returned to the county after placing first in the imperial exams, only to hear that Jiang Yue had died. He refused to believe it. Crushed by grief and an all-consuming obsession, his hair turned white overnight. He climbed step by step to the very top of the power structure in his search for her, becoming the aloof, solitary, white-haired minister whom everyone knew as a man without heart or feeling.
But though the world believed Jiang Yue was dead, the truth was that a twist of fate had forced her to become Ji Yanchेन's pawn. He had secretly set things in motion, creating the false impression that she had died. No one knew that the ordinary Jiang Yue had quietly assumed another identity and become the eldest daughter of the Ji family.
Ji Yanchen was a shrewd player who pulled the strings from the shadows. In public, he had spent years in a wheelchair, appearing frail and keeping a low profile, as if he had no interest in worldly affairs. In reality, he wielded power behind the scenes and controlled the course of events. He was also prickly and arrogant. He kept Jiang Yue, now living under a new identity, by his side and struck a deal with her: they would pretend to marry.
From then on, Jiang Yue was caught between two fates. On one side was the old love who had stood by her in their youth, given everything to secure his future, and, after her supposed death, remained consumed by his obsession, his hair white for the rest of his life. On the other was the scheming man at her side, who controlled her fate, shared her bed, and was bound to her by ties neither could break.
