My Name Is Xitong, Not System
Genre: Otherworld / Awakening / Companionship / Redemption
Tone: Lighthearted and funny at first, heartbreaking in the middle, passionate and tender later
Main Characters: Lin Jin, Xitong
Story Premise
After Lin Jin transmigrates to the otherworldly continent of Canglan, he doesn't get a System in the conventional sense. During an awakening while on the verge of death, he summons an entity named Xitong.
Xitong isn't a cold interface or a mechanical voice that only issues quests. She has her own emotions, temper, and fragments of memories. She gets annoyed at how stupid Lin Jin can be, keeps him company in late-night conversations, and teaches him how to fight, cultivate, and conduct himself when he feels lost.
Later, Xitong gives up her own existence to save Lin Jin, taking a fatal blow and vanishing completely. Lin Jin refuses to accept that she was merely a “tool,” and refuses to believe she had never truly been alive. He sets out alone, crossing wastelands, ruins, divine realms, and the end of time, all to bring back the girl who scolded him, laughed at him, and kept him company.
In the end, he succeeds in bringing Xitong back to life.
