Li Manman, an overworked corporate drone, quit her job to cycle across Tibet. He stepped through the stone gate of an ancient temple and found himself in the Great Xia dynasty, inhabiting Bai Buzhe, a famed general who had died to a hidden arrow.
He didn't want to fight wars or vie for power. He just wanted to find the Gate of Heaven and return to Tibet to feel the wind again.
But he discovered that the name Bai Buzhe still owed this world an explanation.
So he refined salt, reformed the military, invented gunpowder, abolished slavery and distributed land, pacified Loulan, drove back the Xiongnu, secured the southern frontier, and built the Eight Passes. With modern knowledge, he transformed the Great Xia dynasty from top to bottom.
Just as everything was about to reach a perfect conclusion, the gate opened.
