In the Myriad Forms Illusory Realm woven by the Abyssal Lord, Guixu endlessly operates its "sieve." Falsehood breeds, and the truth is enough to tear a dream apart. Zhang Zhenting, suffering from amnesia and carrying a scrap of paper, gathers a team of six, each bearing some kind of loss, to search for a flaw amid rules that strangle them.
The Sieve Defenders cling to a false sense of security. The Ending faction is willing to sacrifice all living beings so a few can escape. Only the Restoration faction chooses to shatter the rules and shut down Guixu, opening a path from dreams to awakening for everyone. They cross the maze behind the gray wall, Shadow City, and the Origin Realm, seeking anchors and pacts, waiting for the right moment. They battle impostors and Sieve Keepers, bearing the evidence of past sins and entrusting one another with their lives.
When the dream's core finally crashes to an end, there is no miracle of becoming gods and ruling the world. The group crosses frozen, snowbound mountains and reaches the Golden City, breaking free of the sieve's shackles. Sunlight falls on iron walls, and steaming rice porridge fills their bowls. The ordinary human world is their final destination.
