When the universe first came into being, spiritual energy and turbid energy gave rise to Cang Lan and the Demon Emperor. Their paths were opposed, and after a great battle, Cang Lan sealed the Demon Emperor with her own body. But the Demon Emperor placed an eternal curse on her, forcing her to reincarnate again and again. Their entangled fate has remained unbroken for billions of years.
On Blue Star, ordinary high school student Pu Xuan was focused on preparing for the college entrance exam and wanted nothing more than a quiet life. After a banquet, he accidentally stumbled upon a conspiracy. He was put in danger while trying to save Chen Xin, the mayor's daughter. At the brink of death, Cang Lan's lingering soul awakened and took control of his body, driving off the attackers. Only then did Pu Xuan learn that he was a descendant of the long-extinct Spirit Devouring Clan, born with the unusual ability to devour souls, and the only person who could end the fated curse binding Cang Lan and the Demon Emperor.
Cang Lan urged Pu Xuan to embark on the path of immortality, but Pu Xuan only wanted to finish his exams and wanted nothing to do with cultivation. After the incident, Chen Xin's father, Chen Chu, hired him for a hefty sum to protect Chen Xin at school. Chen Xin even transferred directly into Pu Xuan's class and sat beside him, drawing every kind of trouble toward him.
After Lin Tianyu was rejected in love, he secretly retaliated against Pu Xuan again and again, and one crisis followed another. Pu Xuan unexpectedly awakened his power and displayed extraordinary skill, catching the eye of the mysterious Shenwu Pavilion, which tried to recruit him. On one side were the approaching college entrance exams and ordinary school life; on the other were the Lin family's secret schemes, hidden martial arts forces, and Cang Lan in his mind, constantly urging him to cultivate immortality.
Pu Xuan had only wanted to earn enough money to live in peace, but step by step, he was drawn into conflict. As the crises escalated, Cang Lan's prophecy gradually came true, and the Demon Emperor's forces quietly set their sights on him and his Spirit Devouring body. The life of an ordinary high school student was changed forever, and the wheels of fate began to turn.
