The Vortex Clock

Warning: This book contains extensive horror, including bodily distortions, disruptions of time, and the collapse of perception. Readers who are easily disturbed should not read it. If you experience dizziness, nausea, numb fingers, or hear a faint "clicking" sound while reading, stop immediately and check every clock around you. This is a collection of horror stories. It has seventy chapters, each a standalone story linked by a hidden thread.

The stories revolve around "time." Someone discovers that the clocks around them have started running slow. Someone finds they are always half a beat slower than others when they walk. Someone receives a gift that should not exist. Someone hears the sound of metal scraping beneath their pillow in the middle of the night. Each chapter follows an ordinary person encountering an inexplicable, uncanny event. They try to find the cause, to fix things, to run away...

But time never waits for anyone. It only waits for people to become what it wants them to be. Seventy stories, seventy ways to be devoured by time. When you finish reading, you'll realize that the most terrifying thing was never ghosts or monsters, but the thing you take for granted every day, ticking away.

This book has seventy chapters. Each one will be just a little "slower" than the one before. If you reach the final chapter and find that you're reading a full three minutes slower than when you started, don't worry. It only means you've been eaten for three minutes too.
