Legend has it that after the ancient emperor Zhuanxu died, the divine sword he forged, Fenxu, vanished without a trace. Jiachen, a death-servant of the Yi Clan, was searching for clues to Fenxu's whereabouts when he was suddenly summoned back to take part in a battle that would annihilate his clan. He was caught in the aftershock of the Four Symbols Vajra Wheel shattering and fell unconscious. When he woke, he learned the secret behind Fenxu's concealment: a branch of the Spirit Clan could sense its location, and members of that branch even bore a self-immolation curse placed on them to protect the sword. To break the curse and find Fenxu, Jiachen disguised himself as Situ Xunkong, the lover in the memories of Lin Xueru, a surviving member of the Spirit Clan. Taking advantage of Lin Xueru's altered memories, he won her trust, and the two embarked on a quest for the sword, where true and false memories intertwined with feelings both real and illusory.
