In the final years of the Great Yin dynasty, the imperial court is in decline and the martial world is divided among rival powers.
In the north stands Frostfrost Sword Pavilion, whose icy swordsmanship is unmatched under heaven. Its rules are strict, and it proclaims itself the foremost righteous sect. In the south is the Scarlet Flame Cult, whose methods are inscrutable and whose followers come from every walk of life. The righteous sects brand it a demonic cult.
Twenty years ago, Shen Tianhan, master of Frostfrost Sword Pavilion, led an alliance of righteous sects to destroy the Scarlet Flame Cult's headquarters, Burning Heart Valley. After a bloody battle, the valley was reduced to ashes. The cult leader, Yin Lie, burned himself to death, and his daughter, Yin Honglian, vanished without a trace.
Twenty years later, turmoil stirs in the martial world once more.
