Premise: A series of seemingly accidental deaths occur in Jiangcheng. Lu Zheng, the criminal investigation team's captain, hits a dead end and is forced to work with Shen Zhou, a good-for-nothing folklorist with the ability to "empathize."
Main conflict: The two communicate with the dead through their belongings and solve a string of linked cases, each forming its own arc, only to discover that they all point to a "fire" covered up ten years ago.
Major stages: 1. Their first meeting and adjustment to one another, as they build trust; 2. Six haunted objects and six mysteries, with the pace steadily building as the antagonist's plans come to light; 3. The truth draws near, a traitor within the organization is exposed, and the protagonists are plunged into danger.
Ending direction: They expose the mastermind and uncover the truth about what happened ten years ago. Lu Zheng remains true to justice, Shen Zhou finds redemption, and the city returns to peace, though undercurrents remain.
